Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Isaiah Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cane Corso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Isaiah Myers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cane Corso!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Myers throws a poor cross that misses

and Corso moves into the clinch.

Myers is fighting off a takedown attempt but Corso is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Myers to the mat. Myers regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Myers tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Corso is in close to Myers's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Myers has his hands on Corso's head, controlling the position.
Corso trying to control the position from guard on top but Myers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Myers manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Corso manages to get himself to full guard.

Myers postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Corso looking for a sweep. Not yet Corso, not yet.
Corso has a closed guard, preventing Myers from standing up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Corso can do anything to dispel that myth.
Corso controls Myers momentarily but Myers frees himself.
Myers would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Corso is on top in guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Myers pulls Corso in close to prevent any damage.
Myers trying to keep a closed guard but Corso is proving a slippery customer.

Corso drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Corso jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Corso has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Myers is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Myers circles away from the clinch attempt.
Corso gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Myers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Corso looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Myers gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Corso to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Corso in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Myers has Corso pulled in close to control his posture.
Corso throws a big right hand that misses.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Corso is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Corso trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Myers keeping moving, preventing Corso from controlling successfully.
Corso won't allow Myers to sweep him here.
Myers is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Corso closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Myers did well to prevent Corso getting side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Myers wants to control but Corso is keeping busy and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cane Corso dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Myers pushes Corso up against the cage in a clinch.

Myers jumps guard but Corso turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Corso jumps guard and drags Myers to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Corso is trying to hold Myers in close to prevent damage but Myers has managed to pass into half guard.

Corso has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Myers is working away from the top position though.

Myers is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Corso defends it well.

Myers seems to be looking for submissions.

Corso looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Myers pushes past his half guard into mount!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Corso has given up his back here.
Corso trying to control the position but Myers manages to sink in the hooks.
Corso is really stuck here.
Corso wants to control his opponent's hands but Myers gets his hands free.

Corso is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Myers working for a choke but Corso is defending well.
Corso rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Myers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Corso is trying to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Corso is trying to control but can't.
Corso wants to control the action here but instead Myers manages to pass to full mount!

Myers goes for an armbar but Corso turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Corso.
Myers wants to sweep but no luck.
Corso has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Corso's corner is telling him to maintain position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Isaiah Myers dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Myers wants to clinch up but Corso keeps it at a distance.

Corso shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Myers is positioning himself well to prevent Corso advancing to mount.
Corso trying to control the action but Myers is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Corso is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Myers is looking to control Corso's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Myers avoid being mounted?

Myers is not content to let Corso control the position.
Myers is concentrating on defense, preventing Corso from advancing position.
Corso sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Myers tries to roll over but Corso keeps him under control.

Corso throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Myers tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Corso is in Myers's guard.

Corso wants to control from the top but Myers keeps moving.
Corso would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Corso throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Corso looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Corso drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Myers wants to control the position but Corso says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Myers is trying to maintain the position but Corso is very close to passing his half guard.
Corso trying to pass the guard but Myers defending well.

Corso trying to control the action but Myers is working from the bottom.
Corso wants to stand but Myers has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Myers is trying to control but can't.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Corso darts in and clinches Myers up against the cage.

Myers is fighting off a takedown attempt but Corso is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Myers to the mat. Myers regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cane Corso comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Corso has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
