Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Parr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohamed Abdul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wayne Parr has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wayne Parr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mohamed Abdul!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abdul moves out of range of the body kick from Parr.

Parr scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Abdul keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Parr prevents Abdul from improving his position.
Abdul wants to control but Parr is keeping busy.

Parr could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Abdul lands a couple of decent looking shots.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Parr misses with a few strikes there.

Abdul feints and as Parr raises his hands in defense, Abdul changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Abdul wants to pass the guard but Parr is keeping the position.

Abdul postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abdul looking to sit in guard and control but Parr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Abdul is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Abdul looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Abdul is looking to take a break and control but Parr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Parr wants to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Parr is staying active underneath Abdul, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Parr is trying to maintain the position but Abdul is very close to passing his half guard.

Abdul keeps control of Parr as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Parr wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Abdul bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Parr's guard.

Parr wants to stand and escape but Abdul is having none of it.

Abdul drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Abdul jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Abdul is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Abdul has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Parr is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Abdul throws a leg kick that misses.
Parr fires out a quick counter leg kick but Abdul just manages to avoid it.
Parr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Parr scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.


It looks like Mohamed Abdul has been cut.

Abdul misses with a two punch combination.
Parr is looking to counter punch.
Abdul fails to land the takedown.
Good shot there by Parr.

Parr rushes Abdul and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Parr breaks from the clinch.
Abdul shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
As Abdul looks to move away, Parr throws a big counter combo bu Abdul just gets out of the way.
Wayne Parr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mohamed Abdul.
Abdul misses with a takedown attempt - Parr sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Parr closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Abdul's guard.

Parr has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Parr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Abdul on the ground.

Abdul is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Parr to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Parr shrugs it off.
Abdul takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Abdul tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Parr is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Abdul sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Parr is squirming around, avoiding Abdul's attempts to control the action.

Mohamed Abdul comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Abdul has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Mohamed Abdul was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
