Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnathon Saunders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dax Kasutomo!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice jab there from Kasutomo.


Johnathon Saunders's cut is getting worse.

Kasutomo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Saunders is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Kasutomo moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Saunders is trying to improve his position.
Saunders really is a fat lump.
Saunders wants to get back to his feet but Kasutomo drags him back down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Saunders is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kasutomo asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Kasutomo stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Kasutomo is looking to clinch but Saunders is avoiding it.
Saunders is looking to counter punch.
Kasutomo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Saunders as he jumps to the side.
It looked like Saunders wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Kasutomo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Saunders manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kasutomo keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Kasutomo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Saunders avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Saunders is looking to counter the offense by Kasutomo and move into the clinch.
Kasutomo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Saunders pinned against the cage. Saunders gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kasutomo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Saunders circles away.

It looked like Saunders was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Saunders avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Saunders.
Kasutomo appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kasutomo or perhaps it was just good defense by Saunders, which made it look bad.

Kasutomo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Kasutomo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Saunders is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saunders is staying active underneath Kasutomo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Saunders is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kasutomo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Saunders pushes Kasutomo off looking to stand but Kasutomo dives back in and keeps control.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Saunders moves into full guard.
Kasutomo wants to control from the top but Saunders keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Kasutomo. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Kasutomo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kasutomo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Saunders's waist but Saunders gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kasutomo off to one side.

Saunders striking off his back but it's not causing Kasutomo any problems.
Kasutomo wants to get up but he can't break Saunders's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Dax Kasutomo has got the better of the ground game so far.

Saunders looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kasutomo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Saunders is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kasutomo is controlling him.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Saunders swats away the attempt to clinch by Kasutomo.

Saunders postures up in Kasutomo's guard and throws a big left but Kasutomo blocks it.
Kasutomo wants to sweep but no luck.

Saunders decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kasutomo, up you get!
Saunders shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kasutomo defends it nicely.

Kasutomo moves into range and clinches up with Saunders.

Saunders defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kasutomo.

Saunders shoots in looking for a takedown. Kasutomo tries to sprawl out of it but Saunders keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kasutomo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kasutomo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kasutomo wants it to stay on the feet.

Saunders flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Saunders might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Well Kasutomo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
