Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wyatt Hoffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nyrkki Hippa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hoffman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hoffman lands in his opponent's guard.

Hoffman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hippa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hoffman, into his guard.
Hippa loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Hippa avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hippa trying to control the position from guard on top but Hoffman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hoffman has his foot on Hippa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hippa works his way back into a safe position though.

Hoffman throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hippa escapes and throws Hoffman's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hoffman is breathing heavily.
Hippa trying to control the position but Hoffman is working away.

Hoffman is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hippa tries to stand but Hoffman is controlling his head.
Hoffman on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Hippa just content to control the position.
Hippa wants to stand but Hoffman has his arm trapped.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hoffman is looking to reverse the position.
Hoffman is not content to let Hippa control the position.
Hippa in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Hippa passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Hoffman!
Hoffman is trying desperately to improve position.
Hippa controlling the pace for now.
Hippa scoring with strikes but Hoffman is staying in there.

Hippa looking to control but Hoffman is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hoffman is desperately trying to improve his position but Hippa has a good base and remains in mount.
Hippa lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Hoffman hang on?
Hippa prevents Hoffman from getting the reversal.
Hoffman is working hard here to advance position.
Hippa lands a big shot there that rocks Hoffman but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Hoffman is squirming around, avoiding Hippa's attempts to control the action.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hoffman tries to reverse the position but Hippa maintains control.
Hippa controlling his opponent.
Hoffman working to try and regain half guard.
The referee warns Hoffman that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Hoffman is trying desperately to improve position.
Hippa with the ground and pound from mount.

Nyrkki Hippa dominated that round.

Hippa gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Hoffman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hippa tries a head kick but it misses.

Hippa drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hoffman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hippa is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hoffman.

Hippa stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Hippa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hippa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Hoffman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hoffman drops back looking for a leg! Hippa is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hippa manages to kick Hoffman off! Hoffman jumps back into Hippa's guard.

Hoffman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hippa is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hippa has escaped and now he's on top!

Hippa gets to his feet. Hoffman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Hippa throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Hoffman looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Hoffman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hippa dives on top into guard.
Hippa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hoffman pushes a forearm under Hippa's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Hippa is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
