Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chris Part (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marijo Palavra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marijo Palavra has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Part shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Part showed some decent athleticism there.
Palavra gets back to full guard.
Palavra is controlling Part's posture.
Part has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Part trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Part will probably get the nod.

Part is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Palavra defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
I really don't envy Palavra right now.

You can see the frustration on Palavra's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Palavra feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Part is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Palavra is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Part is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Part has escaped and now he's on top!
Palavra is trying to control the position but Part postures up.
Part has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Palavra to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Part is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Palavra pulls down on the head and he's put Part to sleep! This one is all over!
