Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexis Carpenter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raphael Swanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexis Carpenter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raphael Swanson !
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swanson blocks a head kick by Carpenter.

Swanson tries to keep at a distance but Carpenter has taken the fight into the clinch.
Carpenter can't get the takedown.
Swanson tries to circle away but Carpenter has him pinned against the cage.
Swanson has had enough of the clinch but Carpenter keeps him there for the moment.
Carpenter is working for takedown but Swanson is calmly controlling the position for now.

Carpenter jumps guard and drags Swanson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carpenter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Swanson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carpenter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Swanson trying to control but Carpenter is working from the bottom.
Carpenter is pulling down on Swanson 's head. It's preventing any offense from Swanson , at least for the moment.
Carpenter looking for a sweep. Not yet Carpenter, not yet.
Carpenter looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Swanson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Swanson prevents Carpenter from improving his position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Carpenter tries to roll over but Swanson keeps him under control.
Carpenter is refusing to be controlled, as Swanson sits in half guard.
Swanson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Carpenter haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Swanson tries to pass to full mount but Carpenter defends it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Swanson lands a nice looking body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carpenter throws a jab but it's blocked by Swanson .
Swanson throws a series of punches but Carpenter avoids them all with ease.
Carpenter throws a hook but Swanson avoids it easily.
Swanson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Swanson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Danga de danga de dang - Swanson scores with a four punch combination!
Carpenter throws a head kick that misses.
Swanson is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Carpenter with a body shot.
Carpenter slips a jab and a cross from Swanson .
Swanson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carpenter dodges the punch combination from Swanson .
Carpenter throws a head kick but Swanson moves out of range.
Carpenter on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A big right from Carpenter misses.
Carpenter takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Carpenter paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Swanson lands with a shot to the body.
Swanson misses with a double jab.
Carpenter tries to counter by clinching up but Swanson breaks away and moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raphael Swanson dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Swanson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Swanson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Carpenter tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Swanson manages to circle out of the way.
A right-left combo lands from Swanson .
Carpenter throws an off balance right hand
and Swanson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Swanson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Swanson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Carpenter throws a quick counter head kick but Swanson was just out of range.
Swanson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It looked like Carpenter wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Carpenter tries to score with a low kick but Swanson moves his leg out of the way.

and Swanson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Carpenter thinking.
Swanson avoids the head kick by Carpenter.
Swanson lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Carpenter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Swanson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Carpenter.

Swanson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Swanson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carpenter circles away quickly and effectively.
Swanson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Swanson .


Carpenter is rocked!
A head kick by Carpenter misses
and Swanson counters with a monster hook and another for good measure! Carpenter falls to the ground, out cold! Stick some heavy metal music over the top of that clip and it's one for the highlight makers!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Raphael Swanson !
After winning the bout, Raphael Swanson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
