Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aaron Lamb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergei Grigori!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Illya Tyunina and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grigori takes the fight into the clinch.

Grigori pulls guard effortlessly.
Lamb being controlled here momentarily.
Grigori wants to improve his position but instead Lamb has moved into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grigori can do anything to dispel that myth.
Grigori manages to get to full guard.
Grigori is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grigori is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Grigori bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lamb's guard.

Lamb knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Grigori on the ground.
Grigori postures up.
Lamb is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Grigori is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Grigori content to stall in guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grigori works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Lamb wants to sweep but Grigori has passed to side control!

It looks like Aaron Lamb has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Grigori decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lamb to his feet.

Grigori pushes Lamb up against the cage in a clinch.
Lamb is trying to break the clinch but Grigori has him pressed against the cage.

Grigori pulls guard effortlessly.
Lamb being controlled here momentarily.

Grigori throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Lamb trying to control but Grigori is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Grigori pulls Lamb in close to prevent any damage.
Grigori is continuing to stall.
Let's hope that Grigori has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Grigori closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lamb quickly recovers to half guard.
Grigori is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Grigori lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Lamb is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Grigori has taken his back.
Lamb manages to reverse the position and now he's in Grigori's guard. Nice work there by Lamb.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Grigori is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lamb defends well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sergei Grigori dominated that round.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Grigori drives through and clinches with Lamb against the cage.
Lamb trying to stall but Grigori improves his position.

Grigori jumps guard.
Lamb missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Grigori is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lamb is aware though and is defending well.
Grigori is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grigori wants to sweep but no luck.

Grigori has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lamb is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Grigori.

Grigori sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Grigori is pressing down on Lamb's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Grigori has his hands on Lamb's head, controlling the position.

Grigori is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lamb defends well.
Grigori has Lamb pulled in close to control his posture.
Lamb has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lamb is posturing up here but Grigori has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Lamb tries to roll out but it's too tight and Lamb has to tap! Slick submission there by Grigori!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sergei Grigori!
