Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doyle Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Virgil Danzig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawk comes to the ring accompanied by American Encore. Virgil Danzig has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Doyle Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Virgil Danzig!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Danzig dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hawk ducks under a wild hook from Danzig.
Hawk needs to keep his hands up - Danzig had a free shot at his head there.
Danzig misses with a straight right.
Hawk attempts a counter takedown but Danzig avoids it well and moves away.

We've been hearing reports that Hawk has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Hawk slips under a jab from Danzig.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Hawk wants to pass the guard but Danzig is keeping the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Danzig really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hawk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Danzig looks to score with a jab to the body but Hawk is just out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Danzig swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hawk bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Danzig scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Danzig's coach down at Smash Hit Kickboxing Club (ELITE) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Danzig's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A punch lands to the side of Hawk 's head but he takes it in his stride.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Danzig walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Hawk drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Danzig swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Hawk's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Virgil Danzig!
An out of breath Virgil Danzig thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
