Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sergio Pettis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rickson Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Summer Carpenter and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gracie as he avoids it easily.
Gracie with the counter takedown but Pettis avoids it easily.
Gracie doesn't manage to clinch there - Pettis circles away.
Pettis changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gracie.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sloppy strikes there by Gracie.
Gracie fails to land a wild elbow strike.
You can see the frustration on Pettis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Pettis is looking for a sweep.

Pettis is working hard here to advance position.
Pettis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Gracie lands some shots froms side control.
Pettis is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control.

It looks like Sergio Pettis has been cut.
Pettis manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gracie's best efforts.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Pettis is defending well.
Pettis is trying to maintain the position but Gracie is very close to passing his half guard.

Pettis looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gracie has picked Pettis up and slammed him! Pettis can't keep hold of the triangle and Gracie manages to pass to side control!

Gracie lands strikes from half guard.

Gracie is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Gracie distracts Pettis with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Gracie postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Gracie keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pettis's head.
Pettis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pettis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Pettis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Pettis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well.

Gracie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gracie postures up in Pettis's guard and throws a big left but Pettis blocks it.
Gracie with a flurry of punches that miss.
Pettis has momentary wrist control but Gracie slips an elbow through the middle.

Pettis is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pettis is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gracie lands a nice short elbow.
Pettis is trying to control but can't.
Gracie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Pettis looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Pettis is looking for a sweep. Gracie is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Pettis thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Gracie postures up and lands a big shot to Pettis's brow.
Gracie is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Pettis looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Gracie is defending well. Pettis quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Gracie has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Pettis celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sergio Pettis!
