The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filipovic tries to clinch but Lowler is having none of it.
Filipovic is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Filipovic has closed the distance and engaged Lowler in a clinch.
Filipovic prevents a body shot from Lowler.
Lowler is trying to break free.
Lowler stalling in the clinch but Filipovic improves position.
A nice right hand lands inside from Filipovic.
Lowler is looking to control Filipovic's arms but Filipovic gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lowler has his back to the ropes.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Filipovic.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lowler is trying to break free.
Filipovic lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lowler backwards.
Filipovic lands a nice uppercut.

It looks like Jimmy Lowler has been cut.
Filipovic with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Lowler has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Filipovic pushes Lowler back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch.

Lowler is trying to break free.
Filipovic doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Filipovic with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Filipovic lands a nice uppercut.

Filipovic creates a bit of space for himself and unleashed what can only be described as a tiger uppercut, straight out of Street Fighter! Lowler crashes to the mat! Can he make it back to his feet in time? 3,4,5, yes, he's made it back to his feet. He seems OK so it looks like we're going to continue!

Lowler is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lowler swats away the attempt to clinch by Filipovic.
Filipovic is looking to clinch but Lowler is avoiding it.
Filipovic tries to clinch but Lowler moves out of range.
Filipovic doesn't manage to clinch there - Lowler circles away.
Filipovic tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lowler swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Filipovic is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A little jabbing left from Lowler on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Mirko Filipovic is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Filipovic tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Lowler paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Filipovic darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Filipovic cracks Lowler with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Lowler is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Lowler is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Lowler could not beat the count!
