Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Smash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hulk Smash is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hulk Smash!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smash gets a double leg takedown into Frost's guard.
Smash trying to control the position from guard on top but Frost is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smash stops Frost from standing up.
Smash working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Smash slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Frost has momentary wrist control but Smash slips an elbow through the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frost has his feet on Smash's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Smash looks to score with a jab to the body but Frost is just out of range.
Smash throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Frost.

Frost closes the distance and pushes Smash back into the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Smash breaks the clinch.

Smash darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Smash is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Frost still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Frost has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Frost stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Smash is looking to clinch.

Smash shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Frost slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frost is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Smash trying to control but Frost is working from the bottom.
Frost is looking to stand up but Smash isn't so interested in that idea.

Frost is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Smash is aware though and is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Frost is adopting a defensive guard.
Frost keeping moving, preventing Smash from controlling successfully.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Frost has control of Smash's left arm, preventing Smash from doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Smash closes the distance and clinches.
Smash lands an elbow just above Frost 's eye.
Smash tries a body shot but Frost blocks it.
Frost is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A frustrated look appears on Smash's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Frost escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smash tries to clinch but Frost is having none of it.
Smash connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Smash throws a right and a left that both miss.
Frost fires out a quick counter leg kick but Smash just manages to avoid it.

Smash closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Frost quickly recovers to half guard.
Frost is positioning himself well to prevent Smash advancing to mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hulk Smash dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Smash closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Frost's guard.

Frost has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smash can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Smash is looking to stand up but Frost won't let him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frost has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Smash trying to control but Frost is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Smash drops back, looking for a kneebar! Frost looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Frost looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Frost!

Frost will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Frost decides to stand back up.

Smash rushes Frost and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Frost wants to break free but Smash has control.

Frost ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Frost no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Frost has his hands on Smash's head, controlling the position.
Smash has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Smash wants to control from the top but Frost keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frost keeping full guard, as Smash tries to pass.
Frost managing to control the position.
Frost really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smash stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Frost swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Frost pulls Smash in close to his closed guard and prevents Smash from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Smash misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smash wants to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Frost is looking to clinch.

Smash feints and as Frost raises his hands in defense, Smash changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Frost is pulling down on Smash's head. It's preventing any offense from Smash, at least for the moment.
Frost looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smash is one step ahead there.
Smash trying to control but Frost is working from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Smash tries to free his leg and advance position but Frost is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hulk Smash showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Smash fails in his attempt to clinch.
Frost throws a big counter combination but Smash scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Smash scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Frost sneaks back into half guard.
Smash wants to stand up but Frost is controlling the position.

Frost is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Frost has Smash pulled in close to control his posture.
Smash throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Smash missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Smash shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Frost is trying to defend but Smash finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Smash takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Smash wants to pass to mount but Frost is defending the position.
Frost controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Smash is keen to just control but Frost is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smash wants to stand but Frost has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Frost is positioning himself well to prevent Smash advancing to mount.
Frost is trying to maintain the position but Smash is very close to passing his half guard.

Smash is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Frost defends it well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Smash wants to clinch up but Frost keeps it at a distance.
It looked like Frost was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Smash darts in and clinches Frost up against the cage.
Frost is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Smash to keep the fight standing.

Smash wants the takedown. Frost is fighting it off but Smash persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Frost's guard against the cage.
Smash is looking to pass into half guard but Frost pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Frost is in guard.


That's four minutes gone in the round.

Frost gets to his feet. Smash looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Smash tries to clinch but Frost is having none of it.

Frost takes the fight into the clinch.
Smash looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Frost has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Frost has had enough of the clinch but Smash keeps him there for the moment.
Frost is trying to push Smash away but Smash has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Smash keeps control of Frost as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Smash escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smash throws a quick inside leg kick.
Pedro Frost has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hulk Smash is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Smash scores with a takedown into Frost's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hulk Smash comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Smash has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
