The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thunder clinches.
Bowers prevents Thunder from breaking the clinch.
Bowers tries to land knees in the clinch but Thunder avoids the damage to the body.
Thunder avoiding damage as Bowers throws knees to the body.
Thunder wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Thunder can't break the clinch.
Thunder trying to land knees to the body.
Thunder wants to stall.

Bowers turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Bowers tries to move into full mount but can't pass Thunder's legs.

Bowers tries for a kimura but Thunder is defending well.

Bowers thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Thunder is looking to reverse the position.

Bowers works to advance to full mount. Thunder defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Thunder tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Thunder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bowers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bowers looking for a guillotine from mount but Thunder is having none of it.
Thunder looks gassed!

Bowers goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Thunder turns into him and now he's in Bowers's guard.

Bowers is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Bowers looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Thunder is controlling Bowers 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.

Bowers wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Thunder throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bowers works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Bowers is looking for a triangle but Thunder pushes his legs off easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bowers had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Thunder is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bowers Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Thunder's back instead.
Thunder is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Bowers off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Thunder tries to roll but Bowers sticks to his back.

Bowers is looking for the choke from the back position but Thunder is controlling his hands well.

Bowers working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Thunder is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Bowers has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Thunder taps out!
