The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons scores with a one two! Marella had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Simmons fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Alan Simmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marella takes the fight into the clinch.

Marella turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Marella manages to end up in side control.
Marella should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
