PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Knapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Campbell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knapp comes to the cage accompanied by Go to Sleep. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knapp tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Campbell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Knapp tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Campbell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Knapp gets a double leg takedown into Campbell's guard.
Campbell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Knapp manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Campbell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Knapp is just riding it out for now. Campbell eventually gives up the hold.

Campbell passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Knapp!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Campbell bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Campbell throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Campbell gets caught napping as Knapp dives in and scores a takedown. Campbell manages to retain guard.
Campbell wants to sweep here but Knapp controlling him for the moment.

Knapp avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Knapp gets to his feet. Campbell looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Peter Knapp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Knapp sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Campbell scores with a head kick. Knapp tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Peter Knapp has been cut.
Campbell tries a head kick but it misses.
Knapp throws a lazy uppercut
and Campbell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Knapp tries a low kick but Campbell avoids it.
Campbell tries to counter with a clinch but Knapp shakes him off and moves away.
Campbell explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Knapp works the jab nicely.
Campbell lands a really nice looking cross but Knapp seems unphased.

Knapp is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Campbell.

Campbell lunges at Knapp with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Knapp's hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Knapp throws a jab when Campbell was well out of range.
Knapp throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Campbell sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Knapp scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Knapp takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

A close second round but Jack Campbell will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Knapp is trying to force a seperation but Campbell has the dominant position.

The fighters circle momentarily. Knapp darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Campbell looks to score with a jab to the body but Knapp is just out of range.

Knapp breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Knapp throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Campbell crashing down! Campbell tries to stagger back to his feet but Knapp just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Campbell asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.

Peter Knapp was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
