Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Shlamel.
Wax throws a wild body kick that Shlamel sees coming a mile off.
Charlie Wax seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A nice inside leg kick there by Wax. That's going to slow Shlamel down.
Shlamel tries a low kick but Wax avoids it.
As Shlamel backs away, Wax returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Shlamel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wax tries to avoid it but Shlamel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wax to the ground. Wax escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Shlamel's coach down at Ironfist MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shlamel's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Wax pulls guard effortlessly.
Wax has momentary wrist control but Shlamel slips an elbow through the middle.

Wax has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shlamel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shlamel wants to control from the top but Wax keeps moving.
Shlamel is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Wax has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Shlamel is looking to defend but Wax has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Shlamel! Wax pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Shlamel taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Charlie Wax!
An out of breath Charlie Wax thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
