Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Riley Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kabuto Wakizashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshall comes to the cage accompanied by I Shot the Sheriff by Eric Clapton. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Riley Marshall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kabuto Wakizashi!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marshall fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wakizashi manages to avoid it.
Marshall with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Marshall misses with a low kick.
Wakizashi only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Marshall slips under a jab from Wakizashi.
We've been hearing reports that Marshall has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Wakizashi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wakizashi wants it to stay on the feet.
Marshall tries to clinch up but Wakizashi circles away and keeps his distance.
Wakizashi throws a nice looking combination but Marshall bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Marshall misses with a head kick.
Wakizashi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marshall stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Marshall shoots in looking for a takedown but Wakizashi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Marshall's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wakizashi.
Marshall scores with a jab. Wakizashi acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Marshall slips a jab and a cross from Wakizashi.
Wakizashi feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Marshall's calf.
Marshall misses with a body shot.
Marshall swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Wakizashi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Marshall scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Marshall is looking to take a break and control but Wakizashi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wakizashi won't allow Marshall to pass to mount.

Marshall is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wakizashi is just riding it out for now. Marshall eventually gives up the hold.

Wakizashi is looking to get to half guard.
Marshall pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Marshall moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Wakizashi has worked his arm free - good work by Wakizashi!

Marshall tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marshall has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Marshall working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Wakizashi prevents Marshall from improving position.
Wakizashi is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Marshall asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Wakizashi is not content to let Marshall control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Wakizashi wants to improve his position but Marshall is controlling well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wakizashi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Riley Marshall will probably get the nod.

Marshall takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Wakizashi looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Marshall tries to clinch up.
Wakizashi feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Marshall's calf.
Marshall dodges the punch combination from Wakizashi.
Wakizashi checks a low kick from Marshall.
Wakizashi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wakizashi ducks right into an uppercut from Marshall.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wakizashi takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Marshall throws a low kick but Wakizashi moves out of range easily.
Kabuto Wakizashi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Wakizashi throws a low kick but it's checked well by Marshall.
Marshall misses with a hook. Wakizashi ducked under it nicely.
Wakizashi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Marshall.
Marshall looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Wakizashi looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Marshall tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wakizashi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wakizashi looks to land a right hand but Marshall moved out of range.
Wakizashi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Marshall uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wakizashi.
Wakizashi connects with a body shot.
Marshall shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wakizashi sprawls well. Wakizashi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marshall gets slowly back to his feet.

Some wild striking there from Marshall.
Wakizashi avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Wakizashi jabs Marshall right on the nose. Marshall blinks but takes it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wakizashi wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Kabuto Wakizashi seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Marshall tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wakizashi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Nice sprawl there from Wakizashi as Marshall shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Riley Marshall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wakizashi leaves Marshall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wakizashi looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Wakizashi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marshall moves away.

Wakizashi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Wakizashi lands a big head kick that sends Marshall tumbling to the mat! Wakizashi takes a step backwards and waves Marshall back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Marshall is rocked!
Wakizashi connects with a stiff jab that staggers Marshall - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kabuto Wakizashi!
A very excited looking Kabuto Wakizashi made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
Riley Marshall was interviewed post fight and said 'You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance!'.
