Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Test Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominick Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Test Speed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dominick Roberts!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Speed.
Speed changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Speed digs a good body shot into Roberts's ribs.
Roberts's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Speed connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Roberts scrambles back to his feet.
Roberts takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Speed doesn't manage to clinch there - Roberts circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roberts has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Speed cracks a nice hook into Roberts's ribs.

Speed wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Speed wants to clinch up but Roberts keeps it at a distance.
As Speed backs off Roberts throws a huge counter combo but Speed manages to avoid it all.
The crowd cheers as Speed lands an impressive looking overhand right. Roberts doesn't seem phased though.

Speed moves into the clinch.

Roberts gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Speed is looking to escape.

Speed strikes from the bottom but Roberts uses the opportunity to move to side control.
You can see the frustration on Speed's face as Roberts controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Speed tries to improve position but can't.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Speed connects with a jab.

Speed digs a good body shot into Roberts's ribs.
Roberts takes one to the chin there.
Speed is looking to wear down Roberts with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Speed moves in looking to clinch but Roberts pushes him off.
Roberts shapes to counter with a head kick.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
It looks like Roberts might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Test Speed will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Speed closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Speed moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Test Speed is winning the standup battle so far.
Roberts avoids the body shot from Speed.
Speed lands a really nice looking cross but Roberts seems unphased.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Speed swings for the body but Roberts moves out of range.
Roberts tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Roberts takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Test Speed is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Speed comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Speed tests Roberts's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Roberts looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

and Roberts counters by moving into the clinch.
Roberts has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Speed after a bit of a struggle.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Speed is looking to control Roberts's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Speed avoid being mounted?

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Speed ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Roberts moves away.

A lazy left from Speed finds it's target.
Speed lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Speed sets himself, and Roberts steps forward looking for the clinch! Speed avoids it this time.
Speed tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Roberts paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Roberts wants to counter with a clinch but Speed pushes him away.
Speed fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Despite the aggression on Roberts's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Speed is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Speed, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
