The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamb wants to clinch.
Evs unleashes a big counter combination but Lamb bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Evs closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lamb to the mat! Lamb manages to get full guard.
Lamb keeping moving, preventing Evs from controlling successfully.
Lamb preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Evs has eaten all the pies!

Lamb had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Evs defends it easily.

Lamb escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Evs gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Evs is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Evs throws a half hearted mid kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lamb looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Evs shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lamb is trying to defend but Evs finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evs prevents Lamb from improving his position.
Evs slows the pace down in half guard.
Evs is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Evs stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Evs fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Evs shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lamb manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Evs passes Lamb's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lamb is trying to maintain the position but Evs is very close to passing his half guard.
Lamb is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Evs's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Evs's back!

Evs defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.

Evs is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lamb is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

and Lamb counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lamb.

Evs has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lamb uses from the top position.
Evs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Evs seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Lamb tries to get to full guard but Evs has control of the leg.

Evs stands up and beckons Lamb to his feet.
Evs throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Lamb counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Evs throws a head kick that misses
and Lamb counters with a nice body shot.

Evs looking to score a takedown here. Lamb is defending well but Evs drives through and ends up in Lamb's guard.
Lamb is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Evs bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lamb's guard.

Evs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lamb swivels though and keeps the full guard.
