The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell throws a head kick that misses.

Mitchell moves into the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Testa has had enough of the clinch but Mitchell keeps him there for the moment.

Testa wants to improve his position but instead Mitchell has moved into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mitchell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Testa works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mitchell wants to stand and escape but instead Testa has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mitchell wants to get back to his feet but Testa is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Testa decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Testa drops back looking for a leg! Mitchell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mitchell manages to kick Testa off! Testa jumps back into Mitchell's guard.

Testa is pushing down on Mitchell's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mitchell is fighting to maintain full guard but Testa has managed to sneak the leg through.
Testa working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Testa takes a kick to the side of the head.
Mitchell tries to clinch up but Testa circles away and keeps his distance.
Chuck Testa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Testa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mitchell is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Testa controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Mitchell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Testa on the ground.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Testa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Testa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Testa gets to his feet - Mitchell follows without any prompting.
Mitchell tries a head kick but it misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Testa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mitchell sees it coming and defends easily.
Well, if Testa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Testa loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Mitchell scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Testa land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Testa stands and salutes the crowd.
