Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Harry Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Harry Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Spencer!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater tries for a takedown but Spencer circles away easily
and Spencer counters with a stiff right hand.
Slater throws an off balance right hand
and Spencer counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Spencer looks to land a combination but Slater avoids it well.
Slater shoots in but no luck this time.
A looping hook to the body misses from Spencer. Slater does a little dance to reset his feet.
Spencer scores with a jab. Slater acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
We've been informed that Spencer has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Slater looks for a takedown but Spencer sprawls well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Spencer sizes up Slater with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

and Spencer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


Slater is rocked!
Spencer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Slater moves away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Slater or perhaps it was just good defense by Spencer, which made it look bad.
Spencer moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Oh Slater is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Spencer misses with a wild combination.

Spencer moves out of range as Slater strikes.
Slater seems to have got his legs back now.

Spencer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Slater's guard.
Spencer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Slater has his foot on Spencer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Spencer works his way back into a safe position though.

Slater working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Spencer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Spencer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Spencer passes Slater's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Spencer in particular looking to stall.
Spencer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Slater's head.
Spencer slips a nice elbow through Slater's hands, connecting with Slater's forehead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slater avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Spencer.
Spencer not doing much here.
Slater blocking the ground and pound attempt from Spencer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Spencer dominated that round.
That's time! Slater's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Slater throws a shot from downtown. Spencer moves away and avoids it.
A nice inside leg kick there by Spencer. That's going to slow Slater down.
Spencer scores with a nice head shot.


It looks like Harry Slater has been cut.
Slater misses with a lunging right hand
and Spencer comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Slater stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Spencer is on him like rabid pit bull! Slater slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Spencer!
An out of breath Joe Spencer thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
