The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Johnson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Perry sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Brent Perry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Johnson.
Johnson looks for the body kick but Perry saw that one coming.
Johnson checks the leg kick.
A combination from Johnson does no damage.
Johnson misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Perry wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Johnson looks to throw a body kick

and Perry counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Perry.
Johnson prevents a body shot from Perry.
Johnson is trying to push Perry away but Perry has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Perry misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Johnson.

Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Johnson tests Perry's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Perry takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Brent Perry has been cut.
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Perry moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.
Johnson looks winded!
Johnson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses.

Perry gets the takedown into side control.
Perry lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Johnson down.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Perry drags him back down.
Perry lands a few punches from side control.

Perry is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there.

Perry tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.
Johnson on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Perry controls the position from side control.
Johnson is trying to control Perry's posture but Perry avoids it.

Johnson managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Perry.

Perry lands some shots froms side control.
Johnson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Perry is working to tighten his grip on Johnson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Johnson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Perry is really squeezing tight and eventually Johnson passes out! Perry breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
