The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins darts in looking for a takedown but Burke gets double underhooks and turns Jenkins into the cage.
Jenkins misses with a takedown attempt - Burke sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jenkins is trying to drag Burke to the mat but Burke just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Jenkins has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Burke is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Burke for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jenkins tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Burke smiles and moves away.

Burke throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jenkins's waist but Jenkins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Burke off to one side.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jenkins enables Burke to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jenkins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Burke has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Jenkins after a bit of a struggle.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jenkins using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Burke has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Burke has clasped his hands together around Jenkins's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jenkins is looking to regain half guard here but Burke keeps moving and retains side control.
