PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Schurrel Zagreb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zagreb is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: My Immortal. Schurrel Zagreb will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zagreb looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hall!

Zagreb thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Zagreb tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hall's legs.
Hall regains half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zagreb is looking for a kimura but Hall is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Zagreb to get the leverage.
Hall trying to control from the bottom.
Hall really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Zagreb is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hall sees it coming and defends easily.
Zagreb is keen to just control but Hall is a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hall moves into full guard.
Zagreb tries to free his leg and advance position but Hall is retaining full guard.
Hall lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Zagreb has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hall is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Hall fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zagreb sprawls well initially but Hall persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Zagreb really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hall is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Hall stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Zagreb to get to his feet.
Zagreb looks to score with a jab to the body but Hall is just out of range.
Hall half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Hall changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Zagreb looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hall has control of an arm but Zagreb manages to advance to Hall's back!

Zagreb doesn't have the hooks in and Hall manages to turn into his guard.

Hall stands and steps away. Zagreb gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Zagreb misses with a kick to the body.
Zagreb moves out of range of the leg kick from Hall.
Zagreb moves in looking to clinch but Hall pushes him off.
Zagreb throws a front kick that sends Hall stumbling back into the cage.

Hall has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zagreb can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hall manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zagreb manages to get himself to full guard.

Zagreb wants to stand and escape but Hall is having none of it.

Hall decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Zagreb, up you get!
Hall moves in looking to clinch but Zagreb pushes him off.
Zagreb delivers a nice body kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zagreb wants to clinch up but Hall keeps it at a distance.

Zagreb drives through with a takedown into Hall's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Hall might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hall wants to sweep here but Zagreb controlling him for the moment.

That was a close round but I would say that Dennis Hall will probably get the nod.

Zagreb defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zagreb is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Zagreb takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Hall lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hall cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hall is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zagreb can do to turn this around?
Zagreb is in a horrible position here. Hall smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

BOOM! Hall connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hall mounts Zagreb! Really nice guard pass there!
Zagreb is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hall postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Zagreb looks a forlorn figure.

Zagreb tries to hold on but Hall pushes him away.
Hall is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Zagreb can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hall lands with some strikes.

Dennis Hall dominated that second round.

Zagreb decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Hall is looking to cinch up a triangle. Zagreb throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hall's body to avoid the submission. Hall has instead reached around Zagreb's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hall arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
