Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Wooooly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Wates!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wates gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wooooly to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Wooooly is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Wooooly has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Wooooly will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wooooly is pushing down on Wates's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wates is fighting to maintain full guard but Wooooly has managed to sneak the leg through.

Wooooly is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wooooly's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Wooooly closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wates is looking to get back to full guard here but Wooooly has managed to pass to side control instead.
Wooooly controls the position from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wates is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Wates is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Wooooly happy to just control the position for now.
Wooooly seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Wates for as long as he can get away with.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Wates wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Wooooly working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
William Wooooly overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Wates drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Wooooly is trying to control Wates's posture but Wates avoids it.
Wooooly gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Wooooly sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Wooooly tries to roll over but Wates keeps him under control.
Wooooly is looking to control Wates's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wooooly avoid being mounted?
Wooooly is looking to improve his position.
Wooooly is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wates's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wates's back!
I would not like to be Wates right now.

Wooooly is looking for the choke from the back position but Wates is controlling his hands well.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Wooooly is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Wates tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Wooooly has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Wates is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
