The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva moves out of range of the strikes.
Slayer blocks a head kick by Da Silva.
Slayer wants to counter the offense by Da Silva and move into the clinch position.
Da Silva feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Slayer's calf.
Da Silva connects with a solid leg kick.
Da Silva misses the shot to the body.
Da Silva throws a nice outside leg kick.
Slayer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Da Silva tries to land a front kick but Slayer steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Da Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Slayer.
Slayer throws a lazy right hand but Da Silva sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Slayer takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Slayer throws the left hand but Da Silva avoids the punch easily.

Slayer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Da Silva.
Da Silva throws a head kick but Slayer moves out of range.

Da Silva throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Da Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Slayer.
Slayer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Da Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Slayer.
Slayer lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Slayer rushes Da Silva and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Slayer lands with a short shot to the head.

Slayer throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Da Silvas head.

Slayer ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Slayer no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Da Silva is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Slayer has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Da Silva is looking to defend but Slayer has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Da Silva! Slayer pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Da Silva taps out and this one is all over!

After winning the bout, Gustav Slayer thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
