Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Kingston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Sampson!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sampson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sampson is keen to just control but Kingston is a slippery customer.

Sampson stuffs the takedown attempt from Kingston. Kingston gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kingston looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Kingston tries to roll over but Sampson keeps him under control.
Sampson is controlling the pace.

Despite being in the dominant position, Steve Sampson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sampson wants the takedown. Kingston is fighting it off but Sampson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kingston's guard against the ropes.

Steve Sampson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kingston throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sampson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Kingston paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sampson misses with a low kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Kingston.
Sampson is looking for a sweep.
Kingston will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sampson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Kingston's best efforts.

Kingston tries to stand and escape but Sampson is controlling the position.
Sampson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Kingston jumps into side control!

Kingston wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sampson keeps working.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sampson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sampson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Sampson wants to control but Kingston is keeping him busy.
Kingston is looking for a sweep.

Sampson wants to stand but Kingston is controlling his arm.
Sampson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kingston keeps working.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Sampson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kingston kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Mike Kingston has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Kingston.
I think Sampson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
