PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dede Rustandi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aegon Stark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rustandi's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Goyang Dumang. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stark doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Rustandi to counter with a crisp jab.
Aegon Stark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stark shoots and misses
and Rustandi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Stark throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Rustandi appears to be looking for a big counter.
Stark fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dede Rustandi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aegon Stark.
Stark tries to bum rush Rustandi with a series of wild strikes but Rustandi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rustandi lands a glancing blow to the side of Stark's head.
Stark throws out a loose jab but Rustandi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rustandi throws a right hand that Stark ducks under and follows up with a left that Stark also avoids with ease.

Stark moves in looking to clinch but Rustandi pushes him off.
Stark wants to clinch but Rustandi slips to the side
and Rustandi counters with a stiff right hand.
Stark will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Rustandi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rustandi lands the left hand.

Stark manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rustandi on his heels. He'll look to pass Rustandi's guard now, I'm sure.
Rustandi is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Rustandi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stark defends well.
Rustandi tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Rustandi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stark on the ground.

Rustandi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stark is one step ahead there.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rustandi tries to sprawl but Stark drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Stark tries to pass to full mount but Rustandi defends it.
Rustandi is looking to control Stark's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rustandi avoid being mounted?
Stark tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Rustandi has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Rustandi wants to control but Stark is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Rustandi wants to get back to full guard but Stark has mounted him!
Stark tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stark lands a couple of good shots and Rustandi has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

A close round but Aegon Stark will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Stark takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Stark should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Stark shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rustandi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Stark lands a couple of digs.
Rustandi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Stark has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rustandi pulls Stark in to control the position.
Stark wanted to stand there but Rustandi had control of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stark wants to stand but Rustandi has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stark misses with a takedown attempt
and Rustandi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Stark takes a kick to the side of the head.

Rustandi gets caught napping as Stark dives in and scores a takedown. Rustandi manages to retain guard.
Rustandi doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Rustandi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stark is aware though and is defending well.

Stark's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Stark is standing up over Rustandi. Rustandi looks to escape but Stark dives into side control.

Stark misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Stark controls the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Stark lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rustandi down.
Rustandi can't do much from the bottom here.

Stark has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rustandi is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Stark yanks on the arm and Rustandi is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Stark.
