Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ivan Spinolio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wayne Dean!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Spinolio misses.
Dean ducks under a wild hook from Spinolio.
As Spinolio backs off Dean throws a huge counter combo but Spinolio manages to avoid it all.
Dean throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Spinolio bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dean's head.
Spinolio definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Spinolio throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Dean wants to counter the offense by Spinolio and move into the clinch position.
A lazy left from Spinolio finds it's target.
Dean will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Dean has Spinolio up against the cage in a clinch.
Dean tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dean is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Spinolio wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dean manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spinolio would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Dean escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Spinolio gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Dean is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Spinolio has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Dean is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dean controlling Spinolio's posture.

Spinolio avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dean throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dean gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Spinolio.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dean shoots in looking for a takedown. Spinolio tries to sprawl out of it but Dean keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Spinolio manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Spinolio takes a swing at Dean's ribcage but misses.
Ivan Spinolio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Horrible takedown attempt by Dean or perhaps it was just good defense by Spinolio, which made it look bad.
Spinolio throws out a loose jab but Dean uses good head movement to avoid it.
Spinolio throws a right hand that Dean ducks under and follows up with a left that Dean also avoids with ease.
Dean goes for a double leg but Spinolio avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Spinolio continues to drive forward.
Ivan Spinolio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wayne Dean.
Spinolio feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Deans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Spinolio cracks Dean with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Dean looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Spinolio finish him?


Dean is rocked!


It looks like Wayne Dean has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dean drops his hands for a split second and Spinolio immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Dean face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Spinolio follows up with a right hand that knocks Dean into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ivan Spinolio!
A very excited looking Ivan Spinolio made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
