Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dom Diego!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
29 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Sunshine!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sunshine throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Diego sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Sunshine throws a shot from downtown. Diego moves away and avoids it.
Diego looks for a takedown but Sunshine sprawls well.
Sunshine takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
It looks like Dom Diego has been cut.
Diego throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sunshine stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Sunshine avoids the body shot from Diego.
Jab, jab by Diego - just one landing.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Sunshine enables Diego to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sunshine manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Sunshine is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Diego will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sunshine keeping moving, preventing Diego from controlling successfully.
Sunshine wants to sweep here but Diego controlling him for the moment.
Sunshine keeping full guard, as Diego tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Diego content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Sunshine is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sunshine has control of Diego's left arm, preventing Diego from doing any damage.
Diego postures up in Sunshine's guard and throws a big left but Sunshine blocks it.
Sunshine is pulling down on Diego's head. It's preventing any offense from Diego, at least for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sunshine utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Diego throws an elbow that misses. Sunshine uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Diego's guard. Nice move by Sunshine!
Diego is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Sunshine frees his head nicely. Oh but Diego has switched to an armbar! Sunshine is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Dom Diego!
A less than humble Dom Diego misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
