Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andy Carroll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Jenkins Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Carroll might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Horse Outside. Andy Carroll has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Carroll!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Jenkins Jr!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins Jr moves forwards but Carroll connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Carroll misses with a straight right.
Jenkins Jr swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Jenkins Jr looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


It looks like Jeremy Jenkins Jr has been cut.
Carroll throws a jab when Jenkins Jr was well out of range.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jenkins Jr has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Jenkins Jr slips a straight right by Carroll.
Carroll throws a lazy uppercut

and Jenkins Jr holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Carroll prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jenkins Jr tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A head punch on the inside from Jenkins Jr fails to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carroll blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Jenkins Jr is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Carroll gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Jenkins Jr shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Carroll manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Carroll on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carroll tries to get out of the position.

Jenkins Jr's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Carroll got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jenkins Jr has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carroll has managed to get both his arms back between Jenkins Jr's legs - danger averted.

Jenkins Jr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Carroll defends well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jenkins Jr is looking for a triangle but Carroll pushes his legs off easily.

Carroll will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jenkins Jr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Jenkins Jr is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Carroll is trying to control but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Andy Carroll will probably get the nod.

Carroll throws a looping overhand right but Jenkins Jr ducks down to avoid it.

enabling Jenkins Jr to counter with a crisp jab.

Jenkins Jr uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Carroll.
Jenkins Jr tries to move into range but Carroll moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

and Carroll counters with a good low kick that Jenkins Jr was not able to check.

Carroll throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Jenkins Jr uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Carroll.
Carroll missing with a left hand there. Jenkins Jr was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Carroll sets himself, and Jenkins Jr steps forward looking for the clinch! Carroll avoids it this time.

We've been told by Carroll's head coaches at Diamond Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Andy Carroll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carroll misses with a hook. Jenkins Jr ducked under it nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Carroll misses the target.

Jenkins Jr gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jenkins Jr bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Carroll's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Carroll is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Jenkins Jr shoots in for a takedown but Carroll shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Jenkins Jr takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Carroll dips to his left and cracks Jenkins Jr with an uppercut!
A left lands for Carroll.


Jenkins Jr is rocked!

Carroll lands a big right hand that sends Jenkins Jr crashing to the mat! Carroll stays standing though and waves Jenkins Jr back to his feet!
Jenkins Jr is still on wobbly legs! Can Carroll finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Carroll scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Carroll feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Jenkins Jr sprawling to the canvas! Jenkins Jr rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Carroll finish him?!


That has opened up Jeremy Jenkins Jr's cut even more.
Carroll drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Jenkins Jr right on the button. Jenkins Jr goes down! Carroll follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Carroll gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andy Carroll!
Andy Carroll spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
