The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pacquaio throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Silva half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
We've been hearing reports that Silva has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Pacquaio rushes Silva and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Silva is trying to trip Pacquaio. He has hold of a leg but Pacquaio is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Silva persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Pacquaio wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.
Pacquaio really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva is standing up over Pacquaio. Pacquaio looks to escape but Silva dives into side control.
Silva is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pacquaio is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Pacquaio pushes Silva away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Silva gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The strikes coming from Silva are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Pacquaio felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pacquaio knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Silva jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pacquaio manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Silva tries to move to mount but Pacquaio blocks the move with his legs.
Pacquaio is trying to buck Silva off.
Pacquaio managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Silva.

Silva in side control lands a decent elbow.
Silva is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Pacquaio is trying to escape and Silva transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Pacquaio is forced to tap! Nice work there by Silva! Very nice indeed!
