The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madeira stuffs the takedown attempt from Pfeifer. Pfeifer gets slowly back to his feet.
Pfeifer shoots in but Madeira avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pfeifer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Madeira as he jumps to the side.

Pfeifer gets a clinch.
Madeira is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Pfeifer won't allow Madeira to sweep him here.

Madeira had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pfeifer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Madeira Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pfeifer's back instead.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Madeira.

Madeira looking to break Pfeifer's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Pfeifer remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Madeira will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Madeira gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.

Madeira is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pfeifer has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Madeira.

Madeira is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Pfeifer is defending well though. Madeira let's go of the attempt for now.

Madeira lands a nice forearm strike.
Madeira has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Pfeifer!

Madeira stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Pfeifer throws a head kick that misses

and Madeira counters with a single leg into guard. Pfeifer didn't expect that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Madeira stands and throws Pfeifer's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Madeira has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Pfeifer is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Madeira yanks on the arm and Pfeifer is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Madeira.
