Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sion Mass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Santino Carolla!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mass takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Mass walks into a jab.
Carolla scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mass doesn't seem bothered though.
We've been told by Mass's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Mass tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Carolla defends well and Mass ends up having to push Carolla into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Mass jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Despite the aggression on Carolla's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Carolla scores with a jab to the jaw.
It looks like Sion Mass has been cut.
Carolla cracks Mass with a right hand to the side of the head.
Mass tries for a takedown but Carolla circles away easily
and Carolla counters with a stiff right hand.
Mass misses with a body shot.
Carolla lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mass closes the distance but Carolla moves to the side
and Carolla counters with a crisp right hand that drops Mass! Carolla lets Mass back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Mass is rocked!
Mass is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Carolla throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mass stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Carolla sends Mass crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Carolla is motioning to the referee to let Mass up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Oh Mass is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Carolla lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Mass out cold! Mass is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Santino Carolla!
Sion Mass spoke after the fight, saying 'He cheated'.
