Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fouad Barayev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rocky Balboa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fouad Barayev!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barayev looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Balboa landing small, sideways elbows.
Barayev throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Balboa is looking to escape.
Balboa is looking to control Barayev's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Balboa avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Balboa tries to get to full guard but Barayev has control of the leg.
Barayev content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Barayev is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Balboa shoots in and bounces Barayev off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Balboa decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Barayev, up you get!

Barayev wants to control from the top but Balboa keeps moving.

Barayev is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Balboa is just riding it out for now. Barayev eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Barayev seems to be working for a kimura but Balboa defends the submission attempt.
Barayev is looking to take a break and control but Balboa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fouad Barayev dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Barayev wants to clinch up but Balboa keeps it at a distance.

and Barayev counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Balboa's guard now.
Balboa wants to stand and escape but Barayev is having none of it.
Barayev trying to control but Balboa is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Fouad Barayev.

Barayev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Barayev tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barayev has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Balboa manages to work his way to half guard, despite Barayev's best efforts.

Balboa tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Fouad Barayev has got the better of the ground game so far.
Barayev is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Balboa!

Balboa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Balboa lands in his opponent's guard.

Fouad Barayev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Balboa is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Barayev has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Balboa is looking to defend but Barayev has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Balboa! Barayev pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Balboa taps out and this one is all over!
