With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberto Silva!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Silva shoots in but no luck this time.
Alvarez thinks about countering with a head kick.
Alvarez throws a shot from downtown. Silva moves away and avoids it.
Silva is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Alvarez - that will leave a mark!
Silva takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Alvarez goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Silva slips under a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alvarez throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Alvarez, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Alvarez against the ropes but Alvarez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Alvarez swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

and Alvarez counters with a head kick that drops Silva to the mat! Silva scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Alvarez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alvarez wants it to stay on the feet.

Nice uppercut lands for Alvarez. That snapped Silva's head back.

and Silva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alvarez lands a nice looking kick to the body. Silva takes a step back to recover.

Alvarez lands a big head kick that sends Silva tumbling to the mat! Alvarez takes a step backwards and waves Silva back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Silva is still on wobbly legs! Can Alvarez finish him?

It looks like Roberto Silva has been cut.
Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Alvarez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Silva seems to have recovered his senses.

Alvarez throws a quick head kick that knocks Silva silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Alvarez is up on the ropes, taking in the applause from the crowd.
