Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carl Maywho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dakota Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carl Maywho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dakota Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maywho has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Brooks.
Maywho closes the distance and clinches up with Brooks, looking for a takedown. Maywho pushes Brooks against the cage but Brooks circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Brooks lands a glancing blow to the side of Maywho's head.

Maywho goes for a takedown attempt but Brooks pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Brooks throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Maywho wants to clinch.
Maywho throws a left and a right that both miss
and Brooks counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Maywho thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brooks shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Maywho napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Maywho is looking for a kimura but Brooks is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Maywho to get the leverage.
Brooks is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Maywho scores with a couple of nice shots.

Maywho seems to be looking for submissions.
Maywho controlling the pace.

Maywho is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Brooks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Maywho.

Maywho is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Maywho seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brooks does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Maywho is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brooks sees it coming and defends easily.
Maywho is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Maywho pulls guard.
Maywho wants to stand but Brooks is controlling the position.
Brooks wants to control from the top but Maywho keeps moving.
Maywho might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Maywho keeping full guard, as Brooks tries to pass.
Brooks looking to sit in guard and control but Maywho gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brooks has his foot on Maywho's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maywho works his way back into a safe position though.

Maywho drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Maywho jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Brooks, right into the meat.
Brooks is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Brooks fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.


It looks like Carl Maywho has been cut.
Maywho tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Brooks defends well and Maywho ends up having to push Brooks into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Brooks closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brooks lands in his opponent's guard.
Maywho wants to sweep but no luck.

Maywho pushes Brooks off and gets back to his feet.
Brooks has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Maywho will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Maywho shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brooks defends it nicely.
Brooks ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Brooks darts in and clinches Maywho up against the cage.
Maywho fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Brooks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brooks is trying to trip Maywho. He has hold of a leg but Maywho is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Brooks persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Maywho had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brooks defends it easily.

Maywho is looking to sweep but instead, Brooks has passed into half guard.

I've got Brooks winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
