Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Israel Vazquez!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vazquez has taken the fight to the clinch.

Vazquez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Maria wants to clinch
and Vazquez counters with a two punch combo.

Vazquez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Vazquez creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Maria sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Vazquez stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Vazquez scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vazquez passes to side control.
Maria gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Vazquez lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Vazquez is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Vazquez takes the fight into the clinch.

Vazquez has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Maria clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Vazquez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Vazquez has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Maria.
Maria could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Maria is breathing heavily.
