Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Chaplin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ocho Cinco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charlie Chaplin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ocho Cinco!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cinco scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Chaplin blocks a head kick by Cinco.
Chaplin tries to clinch up.

Cinco changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chaplin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Cinco is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Chaplin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Cinco misses with the ground and pound.

Cinco is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chaplin has escaped the position, nice work there.

Cinco tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cinco has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Chaplin wants to control but Cinco postures up.

Cinco wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chaplin, who protects the arm well.

Chaplin dodges the ground and pound from Cinco.

Cinco wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chaplin, who protects the arm well.

Chaplin is pressing down on Cinco's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cinco misses with a series of wild punches.

Cinco shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cinco showed some decent athleticism there.
Chaplin gets back to full guard.
Chaplin is trying to keep Cinco in close.
Chaplin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ocho Cinco dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Cinco throws a hook but Chaplin avoids it easily.
Chaplin closes the distance and clinches up with Cinco, looking for a takedown. Chaplin pushes Cinco against the cage but Cinco circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cinco just misses with a punch to the body.
Cinco tries to clinch but Chaplin is having none of it.

Chaplin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Cinco!
Cinco is looking to get to half guard.
Chaplin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Cinco looks a forlorn figure.
Chaplin looking to control but Cinco is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Cinco is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Cinco is breathing heavily.
Chaplin prevents Cinco from getting the reversal.
Chaplin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cinco is looking to escape.
Cinco is working to get back to half guard.
Chaplin trying to control but he's not successful this time.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cinco wants to control but Chaplin is having none of it.

Chaplin working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Chaplin trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Cinco can't escape the position.
Cinco wants to control but Chaplin is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Chaplin wants to control the pace but Cinco is squirming around nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Chaplin closes the distance and clinches up with Cinco, looking for a takedown. Chaplin pushes Cinco against the cage but Cinco circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Chaplin needs to keep his hands up - Cinco had a free shot at his head there.
Cinco throws a sloppy head kick and Chaplin moves out of range easily.

Cinco looks for a takedown but Chaplin sprawls well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Chaplin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cinco keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Charlie Chaplin.
I think Chaplin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
