Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jon Erik Andersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre Laprise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jon Erik Andersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre Laprise!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andersen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Laprise back to the cage. Andersen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Pierre Laprise has been cut.
Laprise takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Andersen pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Laprise has a takedown stuffed.
Andersen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A jab from Andersen does it's job there.
Andersen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Laprise fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Laprise drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Laprise trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Andersen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Laprise is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Andersen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Andersen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Andersen is looking to stand up but Laprise isn't so interested in that idea.
Laprise trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Laprise drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Andersen dives on top into guard.

Andersen works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Laprise told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Andersen trying to pass the guard but Laprise defending well.
Andersen frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Laprise tries to reverse the position but Andersen maintains control.

Laprise is squirming around, avoiding Andersen's attempts to control the action.
Laprise tries to hold on but Andersen postures up.
Laprise can't escape the position.
Andersen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Laprise is looking to escape.
Andersen controlling from mount.
Laprise really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Laprise keeps trying to improve his position.

Laprise defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Andersen.
Laprise is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Andersen lands a big shot there that rocks Laprise but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Andersen is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Laprise can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Laprise is rocked!

Andersen working for a guillotine from mount but Laprise is in no mood to give up.
Laprise is still in real trouble! Can Andersen finish him?
Laprise sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Laprise seems to have recovered his senses.
Laprise on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Andersen works his foot free and advances to mount.

Andersen wants to finish this one by submission but Laprise is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Andersen.
Andersen trying to control but Laprise is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Andersen stands up from mount. Strange move.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Laprise closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Andersen did well to prevent Laprise getting side control.

Laprise is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Andersen is just riding it out for now. Laprise eventually gives up the hold.

Laprise is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Andersen tries to roll over but Laprise keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Erik Andersen dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Pierre Laprise's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Laprise keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Andersen.
The fighters circling - Andersen throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Laprise changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Andersen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Andersen misses with a left hand

and Laprise counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Laprise is trying to improve position by moving to mount. Andersen has hold of his neck though and manages to move into guard! All of a sudden, Laprise is in a lot of trouble! Andersen is straining to finish and he's done it! Laprise taps out! Amazing!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jon Erik Andersen!
An out of breath Jon Erik Andersen thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
