The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Churchill scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sampson doesn't seem bothered though.
Sampson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Churchill has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sampson tries to break free but Churchill pushes him back against the cage.
Churchill wants to take the fight to the mat but Sampson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Churchill works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Sampson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Churchill scoring with punches to the head and body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Churchill content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Churchill tries to free his leg and advance position but Sampson is retaining full guard.
Sampson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sampson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Churchill cracks Sampson with a solid left hand.
Churchill must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Churchill scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Churchill is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Churchill controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Churchill's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Sampson has momentary wrist control but Churchill slips an elbow through the middle.


Sampson is rocked!

Oh Sampson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Churchill loads up on a big left hand. Sampson felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Churchill looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Sampson can't hide his disappointment, as Churchill celebrates the victory.
