Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ted Horne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ted Horne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Stewart!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horne darts in looking for a takedown but Stewart gets double underhooks and turns Horne into the cage.
Horne lands with a nice body punch.
Stewart fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Stewart rushes Horne and presses him up against the cage.
Horne tries a body shot but Stewart blocks it.
Stewart is pushing Horne up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Stewart manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stewart has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Horne accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Stewart is looking to get back to is feet but Horne passes into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Horne misses with the ground and pound.
Horne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Stewart is looking for a sweep.
Horne lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Stewart misses with an elbow from the bottom.

Horne gets to mount! Stewart was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Stewart tries to reverse the position but Horne maintains control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Stewart tries to lock up and control but Horne gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Stewart avoids a series of strikes thrown by Horne.
Horne landing strikes from the mount.
Horne lands a heavy elbow.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Horne cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Horne is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stewart takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Horne lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Stewart hang on?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ted Horne dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Stewart tries for a takedown but Horne sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Stewart feints and as Horne raises his hands in defense, Stewart changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stewart is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Ted Horne overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Stewart content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Horne has locked up a guillotine! Horne's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Stewart is holding on here and Horne must be using up a lot of energy. Stewart has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Horne gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
