Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Fernando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fernando has chosen Miss Jackson as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernando shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Smith cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Smith shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Fernando is trying to defend but Smith finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Fernando has his foot on Smith 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.

Smith is nestled in close to Fernando, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
We've been hearing good reports from Smith 's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fernando throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Smith stops Fernando from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fernando shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Smith tries to counter with a takedown but Fernando is quick to defend against it.
Fernando has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Manny Fernando's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Smith connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Smith lands a nice hook to Fernando's body. Fernando takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
