PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hades Destroyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruise Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen Mortal Kombat Theme as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hades Destroyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bruise Lee!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Destroyer on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lee. Lee obviously looking to wear him down.

Lee forces Destroyer back against the cage and clinches.
Destroyer wants a takedown but no success here.

Lee pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lee shoots in but no luck this time.
Destroyer tries to counter with a takedown but Lee is quick to defend against it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lee.
Lee changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Destroyer tries to avoid it but Lee manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Destroyer to the ground. Destroyer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hades Destroyer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruise Lee.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lee shoots in looking for a takedown but Destroyer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lee's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Destroyer changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Lee has Destroyer up against the cage in a clinch.
Destroyer tries to break free but Lee pushes him back against the cage.
Destroyer avoiding damage as Lee throws knees to the body.
Lee struggles to land a body shot inside as Destroyer controls his hands.
Lee tries a knee to the head but Destroyer blocks it.
Lee throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Destroyer is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lee pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Destroyer blocking some punches.
Destroyer tries for a takedown but Lee manages to get underhooks.
Lee is pressed up against the cage. Destroyer has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Lee down to the mat. Lee avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Lee is looking to clinch but Destroyer is avoiding it.

Lee changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Destroyer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Destroyer is holding Lee down, trying to stall.
Lee fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Lee tries to get to his feet but Destroyer is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Lee in his guard.
Lee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lee trying to control but Destroyer is working from the bottom.

Lee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Destroyer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lee has managed to get both his arms back between Destroyer's legs - danger averted.
Lee tries to free his leg and advance position but Destroyer is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Destroyer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lee trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Destroyer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Destroyer is controlling Lee's posture.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Destroyer keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruise Lee dominated that round.

Destroyer circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lee tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Destroyer swivels and escapes.
Lee swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Destroyer counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lee!
Destroyer tries to advance to mount but can't.
Lee is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Destroyer has knee on belly and moves into mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Destroyer wants to take Lee's back here but Lee is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Lee is working to get back to half guard.
Destroyer trying to control but Lee is having none of it.

Destroyer working for a guillotine from mount but Lee is in no mood to give up.
Lee tries to lock up and control but Destroyer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lee has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Destroyer is working for a rear naked choke. Lee is not defending it well and Destroyer has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Lee refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Lee's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
