Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Conlon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Yakovlev!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yakovlev fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Conlon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Yakovlev connects with a jab.
Yakovlev throws a right hand that misses

so Conlon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Conlon stops Yakovlev from standing up.

Conlon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Conlon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Conlon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Conlon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yakovlev is just riding it out for now. Conlon eventually gives up the hold.

Yakovlev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Conlon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Conlon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Yakovlev doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Conlon.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Yakovlev is trying to stand up here but Conlon is controlling him well.

Tommy Conlon spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
