Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lyoto Fusukioka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sokratis Gekas!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fusukioka looks to score with a jab to the body but Gekas is just out of range.
And Gekas tries to counter it with a takedown but Fusukioka pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Fusukioka rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gekas counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fusukioka tries to roll over but Gekas keeps him under control.
Fusukioka is not content to let Gekas control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fusukioka trying to hold on to Gekas's head to control him but Gekas postures up.
Fusukioka gets back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Fusukioka is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Gekas frees his head nicely. Oh but Fusukioka has switched to an armbar! Gekas is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
