Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rickey Schwartz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rickey Schwartz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luis Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Francis DeMontford and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez darts in and clinches Schwartz up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Schwartz's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Schwartz decides to pull guard.
Sanchez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Schwartz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sanchez defends it easily.
Schwartz has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Schwartz throws his legs up looking for a submission but Sanchez uses it to pass to side control.
Sanchez tries to stand but Schwartz is controlling his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schwartz is looking to regain half guard here but Sanchez keeps moving and retains side control.
Sanchez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schwartz keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Schwartz tries to buck Sanchez off but Sanchez is having none of it.
Sanchez is looking to take a break and control but Schwartz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Schwartz takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Schwartz is pushing Sanchez's head away, looking to escape. Sanchez manages to hold on to the position though.
Schwartz wants to control but Sanchez postures up.

Sanchez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Sanchez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Schwartz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sanchez pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sanchez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Schwartz pinned against the cage. Schwartz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Schwartz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sanchez trying his best to control but Schwartz has mounted him.
Rickey Schwartz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Schwartz looking to control but Sanchez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Sanchez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Schwartz haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Schwartz jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sanchez manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Schwartz prevents Sanchez from escaping the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A lull in the action here as Schwartz stalls from top position.
Sanchez looks to move to half guard but instead Schwartz has passed into mount! Damn!
Schwartz controlling the pace for now.

Schwartz is working for a guillotine from mount but Sanchez frees his head quite easily.

Sanchez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Sanchez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Sanchez gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Schwartz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Schwartz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sanchez takes a shot to the head.

Schwartz jumps guard.

Sanchez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sanchez won't allow Schwartz to sweep him here.

Schwartz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanchez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanchez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Schwartz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Schwartz has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sanchez is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Schwartz.

Schwartz throws Sanchez to one side and escapes!

Schwartz wants to control from the top but Sanchez keeps moving.
Schwartz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sanchez is proving hard to escape from.

Sanchez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sanchez wants to sweep but no luck.

Schwartz stands up and waves to Sanchez to follow him.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Rickey Schwartz.
I think Schwartz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
