Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julio Shogun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Major Moonstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Major Moonstone will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julio Shogun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Major Moonstone!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moonstone looks to land a combination but Shogun avoids it well.

Shogun darts in and clinches Moonstone up against the cage.
Shogun is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Moonstone lands with a short head shot on the inside.


It looks like Julio Shogun has been cut.
Moonstone lands a body shot.
Shogun jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Moonstone walks away with a smile on his face. Shogun gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Moonstone counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Moonstone.
Shogun jumps guard but Moonstone stands there with Shogun around his waist. Shogun gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julio Shogun. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shogun is trying to pull guard but Moonstone turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Shogun landing some nice looking knees to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Shogun has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

It looks like Major Moonstone has been cut.
Shogun is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Moonstone is defending well for now.
Shogun tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Moonstone just stands there and leans against the cage.

Shogun creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Moonstone blocks an elbow strike from Shogun.
Shogun lands a shoulder strike.
Moonstone lands a left hand.
Moonstone can't break the clinch.
Shogun has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Moonstone after a bit of a struggle.
Shogun throws an elbow but it misses.
Shogun is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Moonstone to keep the fight standing.
Moonstone is trying to push Shogun away but Shogun has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Moonstone lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Moonstone lands a left hand that snaps the head of Shogun backwards.

Moonstone lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Nice elbow from Shogun.
Moonstone blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Shogun lands a nice elbow.
Moonstone stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Shogun is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Moonstone lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Moonstone throws a punch but it's blocked by Shogun.
Moonstone lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Shogun keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Moonstone's efforts to push away.
Shogun blocks an uppercut.
Moonstone tries to break free but Shogun pushes him back against the cage.
Shogun can't find room to land a body shot as Moonstone controls the action.
Moonstone lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shogun backwards.


Shogun is rocked!
Moonstone works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Moonstone is looking to control Shogun's arms but Shogun gets an underhook and turns him. Now Moonstone has his back to the cage.
Moonstone has had enough of the clinch but Shogun keeps him there for the moment.
Moonstone prevents a body shot from Shogun.
Moonstone wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Moonstone lands with a left to the head.
Oh Shogun is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shogun is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Moonstone to keep the fight standing.
Moonstone lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Shogun or not.
Shogun throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Shogun tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Moonstone smiles and moves away.
Shogun seems to have got his legs back now.
Moonstone fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Moonstone misses with a series of wild punches.
Shogun wants to clinch but Moonstone slips to the side
and Moonstone counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Moonstone cracks Shogun with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Shogun looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Moonstone finish him?


Julio Shogun's cut is getting worse.
BAM! Moonstone delivers a spinning backfist that drops Shogun like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Major Moonstone!
Major Moonstone bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
