PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Princess Leia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kano Watnabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Princess Leia has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Princess Leia seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Watnabe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Leia, pushing him back against the cage.

Watnabe turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Leia can't do much from the bottom here.
Watnabe wants to stand but Leia is controlling his arm.
Leia is looking for a sweep.
Leia wants to control but Watnabe postures up.
Leia is not content to let Watnabe control the position.
Leia tries to buck Watnabe off but Watnabe is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watnabe throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leia is looking for a sweep.

Leia is working hard here to advance position.
Watnabe wants to control but Leia is keeping him busy.
Watnabe tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Leia trying his best to control but Watnabe has mounted him.
Leia is in all sorts of trouble here.

Watnabe has hold of Leia's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Leia manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Leia manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Leia tries to get to full guard but Watnabe has control of the leg.
Watnabe wants to stand up but Leia is controlling the position.
Watnabe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Leia has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Watnabe is working away from the top position though.
Leia is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Watnabe's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Watnabe's back!

Leia has managed to slip his arm under Watnabe's chin. This could be all over... yep, Watnabe is tapping out! Submission win for Leia.
