Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emmitt Koch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Roxas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Roxas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Emmitt Koch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Roxas !
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koch shoots in for a double leg but Roxas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Koch shoots in looking for a takedown. Roxas tries to sprawl out of it but Koch keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Roxas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Koch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Roxas wanted to stand there but Koch had control of the position.

Roxas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Koch utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Roxas wanted to stand there but Koch had control of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Roxas tries to land a front kick but Koch steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Roxas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Koch moves away.

Roxas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Koch did well to prevent Roxas getting side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Roxas looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Koch with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Koch wants to get back to his feet.
Roxas is pressing down on Koch's thigh, looking to free his foot. Koch is holding on for now.
Koch has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Roxas is working away from the top position though.

Roxas is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Roxas wants to take a breather but Koch is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Roxas enables Koch to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Roxas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Koch won't allow Roxas to get back to his feet.

Roxas wants to get back to his feet but Koch is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Roxas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Koch pinned against the cage. Koch gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Koch stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Koch wants it to stay on the feet.
Roxas misses with a body shot.

Roxas throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Koch tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Roxas is in Koch's guard.

Koch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Roxas manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koch got a little sloppy there for a moment and Roxas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Koch has managed to get both his arms back between Roxas 's legs - danger averted.

Koch has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Roxas slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roxas wants to control but Koch is keeping him busy.
Koch takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Koch is working to avoid the ground and pound but Roxas connects with a decent elbow.

Koch prevents Roxas from moving into mount.

Roxas decides to take the fight back to the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Koch.

Roxas shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Roxas was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Koch is looking to improve his position but Roxas isn't that keen on the idea.
Roxas scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Koch tries to lock up and control but Roxas gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Roxas has hold of Koch's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Koch manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Roxas cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Koch is looking to get to half guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A nice elbow there by Roxas .
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Roxas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Koch throws a left and a right that both miss
and Roxas comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Koch stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Roxas is on him like rabid pit bull! Koch slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
