Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
26 - 71 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Makebono Bowen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
21 - 64 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mountain Rivera!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rivera showed some decent athleticism there.
Bowen looks like he's trying to stand up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rivera connects with a nice short shot to Bowen's temple.
Rivera is pressing down on Bowen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bowen is holding on for now.
Rivera prevents Bowen from standing back up.
Bowen blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rivera.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bowen has hold of Rivera's hands but Rivera slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Rivera is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bowen has managed to free his arm - good work.
Still in half guard, Rivera seems content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Bowen is trying to stand up here but Rivera is controlling him well.
Rivera working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Rivera not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Rivera prevents Bowen from standing back up.
Bowen has one foot on Rivera's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Bowen wants to clinch.
Rivera looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bowen is fending him off so far but Rivera persists. Nope, Bowen circles away and we're back to standing.

Rivera shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bowen as he avoids it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rivera tries for a takedown but Bowen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Makebono Bowen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mountain Rivera.
Look low, kick high! Bowen uses the oldest trick in the book to send Rivera tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Bowen is absolutely delighted - when Rivera wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
